We Just Won Our 5th PFRE Photographer of the Month Award!
I’m thrilled (and honestly still a little stunned) to share that I’ve been named PFRE Photographer of the Month for April 2025 — and this marks my fifth time winning this award.
This month’s theme was Primary Bedroom, and my winning image featured a calm, modern space filled with soft textiles, warm neutral tones, and natural light pouring in through large windows. The goal, as always, was to make the space feel real, livable, and beautiful — without overdoing it. I wanted it to feel like better-than-natural light.
Behind the Shot
This image was lit using two Godox AD200s with MagMod Spheres. I shot bracketed exposures, but only blended two or three of them in post. I used my Nikon Z 7II paired with the 24mm tilt/shift, which is pretty much my go-to setup for high-end interiors.
Lately, I’ve been working really hard to create images that feel authentic and natural — not overly lit, not obviously processed. I guess I’m chasing that “invisible lighting” look. I’ve learned so much by studying the work of some serious legends — Wayne, Tony, Dan, Garey — guys I admire deeply. I’m not in their league (yet), but I try to emulate the feeling their work gives me.
Why This One Feels Big
– This isn’t just a win — it’s a milestone. I’m the only photographer in Utah to ever win PFRE’s Photographer of the Month, and now I’ve done it five times.
That’s something I’m really proud of. PFRE is the gold standard in real estate and architectural photography — their contests pull entries from all over the world. So to be recognized repeatedly, especially in different categories, is a huge honor. It tells me I’m on the right track — not just creatively, but professionally too.
Gratitude (and Drive)
Every time I win an award like this, it just makes me want to push even harder — to keep growing, refining, and elevating what I do. And honestly, none of this happens without the people who trust me with their listings and spaces. Whether it’s agents, designers, stagers, or builders — if you’ve worked with me, thank you. I appreciate you more than you know.
If you haven’t worked with me yet… maybe now’s the time to see what we can create together.
